CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Departing flights from Charlotte Douglas International Airport are experiencing delays upwards of two hours after a fuel leak forced the emergency closure of two of the airport's three operating runways. The airport was operating Tuesday morning using three of its primary, parallel runways. A departing flight leaked fuel on the airport's center runway thus forcing the closure of the center runway for cleanup of the spilled runway. Once in the air, the plane declared an emergency and returned to the airport, where it landed safely on the airport's left-most runway.
